A junior bed should help to provide a smoother transition for your toddler from the familiar security of their cot to the daunting proportions of a standard single bed.

Wooden starter beds give you the opportunity to match the colour of your existing nursery furniture and you should be able to find one which blends in seamlessly.

Each manufacturer will suggest a maximum age for children using the toddler bed. This is only a guide as each child varies in height and weight but as a general rule it will be between the ages of five and seven.

Remember that standard single bedding is too big for a junior bed and you should look for duvet quilts and covers which are 120cm x 150cm, in addition please also keep in mind that children under the age of 12 months should not use a quilt due to the danger of over heating.
